Today's Travel Thursday pic was taken a few years ago on one of the best holidays/vacations we have ever taken! Venice was amazing. We spent a whole week exploring this amazing city. It was absolutely amazing to see it early in the mornings or in the evenings after all of the tourists left. It felt like we were a part of a special club that got to see the city at its best. Staying for a week in the city was one of the best decisions! If any of you ever get to visit Veni
I love this little pub in Connemara. We have stopped here countless times to take in the views of the Mam valley. The pub was once a thriving and fun place to catch a music session, and we on more than one occasion made the drive here just to enjoy the music. I'm sad to say that it now looks like it has closed. I can't tell you what a shame that is! #galway #connemara #drone #air #mountains #summer #greenfields #livinghistory
Here is another shot of one of my favorite spots. This friary was founded around 1460 and is one of the largest in Ireland. If you have come to visit us - we probably took you here. It's a great place to play 'hide and seek' or 'sardines'. #drone #air #history #faith #galway
There are some places in Ireland that are sacred to me. This is the valley around Lough na Fooey in Connemara. I could not tell you how many times I have come here for a day of hiking, escape, prayer, and reflection. I have so many happy memories here of picnics on the red sand beach and of seeking God's direction and help. It is harder to get here now that I live on the East coast... but I was able to spend a couple of hours here yesterday. I was excited to see it throu
The amazing "sally gap" road winds its way through the Wicklow mountains and it never disappoints. I had pretty much given up hope of getting any photos on this afternoon thanks to the mist and rain... Thankfully, however, this is Ireland. The clouds soon lifted and the sun gave me a beautiful rainbow. I'm just glad that we waiting long enough to see it! #storm #rain #rainbow #wicklow #sallygap #landscape #weather
Here is a favorite photo from the archives... This is Drachenburg castle overlooking the Rhine River in Germany. D and I took a small holiday ten years ago in Germany. We drove down the Rhine looking at all of the amazing small towns and castles along the way! This was my favorite view. The lighting was just perfect when we were there. #castle #history #germany #aroundeurope #blackandwhite #livinghistory #travelthursday
Just a quick note to wish all of my American friends a happy 4th of July! This candid photo is one of my favorites. It was taken a roadside memorial at the USS Alabama a few years ago. #livinghisotry #usa #candidportraits #blackandwhite
