It was amazing to watch the tall ships sail in and out of the sunlight yesterday morning... I couldn't help but stand there and appreciate the beauty of them dance across the horizon as they worked hard to catch the wind. #blackandwhite #tallships #sunflare #seascape #boat #history #livinghistory
Sunset at Newgrange. I had a blast exploring this world heritage site from the air the other evening! Newgrange is truly an amazing place to catch a sunset or sunrise. This prehistoric sacred spot was built around 3200BC and was designed in such a way that light would only enter a small shaft in the mount and illuminate the interior of the mound on the winter solstice. This world heritage site is older than Stonehenge and the pyramids. #history #sunset #sunflare #sheep #me
- the Hill of Tara - A father and daughter stop to admire the tokens left by other visitors to this once sacred site. The fact there there were SO many new tokens tied to the tree would suggest that it is still a sacred site to many.... #history #livinghistory #tree #sunset #sun #sunflare #spring #landscape #candidportraits
I took this photo up in County Louth last week. Thankfully, we had several amazing days of great weather! It was fun to get the drone out and start photographing with it! #air #sunset #drone #greenfields #sun #louth #sunflare
It is hard to believe that two years ago today I was standing alone on a hill waiting for the clouds to part. The fog and cloud was thick that morning, but thankfully they cleared just enough that for me to snap a few photos of the solar eclipse. #livinghistory #skyscape #sun #sunflare
I absolutely love the Hill of Tara! The history of this place is amazing! It once was the seat of the Árd Rí na hÉireann, or the High King of Ireland, and is thought to have been a place where 142 kings made sacrifices during the pagan / prehistoric days of Ireland. This sacred site was believed to have been the dwelling place of gods and an entrance into the afterlife. That is until St. Patrick came here and confronted the pagan religion in a gutsy move. I don't think that I ever feel as moved to pray... or as close to God as I do when I'm walking. I don't know if it the fact that I'm away from people... or if it just the intentionality of slowing down... but I need to get out and walk more often... #hiking #wicklow #glendalough #sunflare #sun #flare #lightflare #sheep #mountains #path #thoughts
